Stephane le Gentil is heading the Energy Efficiency activities of ENGIE in the Middle East, South & Central Asia, and Turkey since January 2018. Prior to that, Stephane was CEO at Wattaqa that he founded in November 2016 to provide strategic consultancy & advisory in energy efficiency and energy services (ESCO) in the Middle East region. In parallel to these activities, Stephane has been the CEO of the Clean Energy Business Council during the second half of 2017 promoting the development of clean energy in the MENA region.
In 2013 Stephane came to the UAE to create Etihad ESCO, the Dubai Government Super ESCO, in charge of retrofitting 30,000 buildings in Dubai, that he headed for 3 years. Before that, he spent many years at a leading Fortune 500 company to build their European energy services. Stephane is a member of the Strategic Advisory board of Efficiency Valuation Organization (EVO) and past Chairman of the European Association of Energy Service Companies, eu-ESCO.
